Adam Spreads his Madness        Across the Nation!

New Years Resolution

Adam asks, “What’s your New Year’s resolution?” Exercise more, drink less coffee, go vegan, or lose ten pounds. But, what about your thinking? We live in a world of our own creation. We create our own reality as individuals and as a society. Do we have to accept the political divide that exist in our government? Should we allow politicians dictate our reality? Don’t we deserve better as Americans?

Rocky Anderson

Adam’s first guest is Rocky Anderson who is running for president in 2012. Ross C. “Rocky” Anderson (born September 9, 1951) served two terms as the 33rd mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, between 2000 and 2008. He is the Executive Director of High Road for Human Rights. Prior to serving as Mayor, he practiced law for 21 years in Salt Lake City, during which time he was listed in Best Lawyers in America, was rated A-V (highest rating) by Martindale-Hubbell, served as Chair of the Utah State Bar Litigation Section and was Editor-in-Chief of, and a contributor to, Voir Dire legal journal.

As Mayor, Anderson rose to nationwide prominence as a champion of several national and international causes, including climate protection, immigration reform, restorative criminal justice, GLBT rights, and an end to the “war on drugs”. Before and after the invasion by the U.S. of Iraq in 2003, Anderson was a leading opponent of the invasion and occupation of Iraq and related human rights abuses. Anderson was the only mayor of a major U.S. city who advocated for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, which he did in many venues throughout the United States.

It gets HOT in the third hour.

Adam’s last guest is Rabbi Michael Lerner who had some controversial ideas about how to achieve peace between Israel and Palestine. Rabbi Michael Lerner is the founding editor or Tikkun magazine. Rabbi Michael Lerner, also leads Beyt Tikkun, a Jewish Renewal synagogue in the San Francisco Bay Area. By bringing together progressive Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Wiccan, and agnostic/atheist voices to talk about social transformation, political change, and the evolution of our religious traditions, Tikkun creates space for the emergence of a Religious Left to counter the power of the Religious Right. He is also the author of Embracing Israel/Palestine: A Strategy to Heal and Transform the Middle East. In this inspirational book, Rabbi Michael Lerner suggests that a change in consciousness is crucial. With clarity and honesty, he examines how the mutual demonization and discounting of each sides’ legitimate needs drive the debate, and he points to new ways of thinking that can lead to a solution.

His website is www.tikkun.org.

"I see a big difference between anger and rage.
Rage is a very dangerous and disfiguring thing because it always has the same goal -- to destroy. Anger, on the other hand, is a normal human emotion that, when channeled properly, can change the world."
