President Obama's Speech: Bush Apologist or Accomplice?

“…I am mindful that the Iraq War has been a contentious issue at home. Here, too, it’s time to turn the page. This afternoon, I spoke to former President George W. Bush. It’s well known that he and I disagreed about the war from its outset. Yet no one could doubt President Bush’s support for our troops, or his love of country and commitment to our security. ”

Are you kidding me?!! This is a “Get out of Jail Free Card.” For me, Operation Iraqi Freedom was a crime of this highest order. The Bush Administration broke with two hundred years of American Foreign Policy to start an preemptive, illegal war against an unarmed nation. It costs the live of over 4400 American soldiers and maybe as many as ONE MILLION Iraqis. It displaced 4 million Iraqi civilians, destroyed the infrastructure of the country, polluted it with depleted Uranium for the next 500,000 years and cost 740 BILLION dollars. All based on lies. And what did the world get for it?

“A caretaker administration is in place as Iraqis form a government…”

I’m sorry if I’m having trouble “turning the page” on this Mr. President , but I’m still stuck on the Chapter titled “Crimes Against Humanity.”

So my question is this: is President Obama an apologist for the crime or an accomplice after the fact?
